Hi I am trying to find help for my best friend. He is the most caring for other people person I have ever meet and has help me very much. I love him dearly. My friend has low self esstem and feels ugly after a girl 4 years ago broke his heart by saying that he was the uglyiest person that she'd ever had been with. He has not had the dental care that is required in many years and I know that his mood and, outlook on life would improve only if he had more self confidence somthing that he says he's working on. Financial helping happens relatively rarely on Aidpage. In most cases, people help each other with pointing to resources (online and local), advice, words of encouragement, sending small packages with stuff, and sharing of experience.

Aidpage does not collect any information about specific cases and ways people might help each other. That's why there are no published "success stories."

I see that you have been a member for a couple of years now, I just wondered if you know of any cases where people have actually been helped by others financially. I have read the needs and sad stories that many are faced with but I have not read anything about anyones success story? Also do you know of any other sites or additional help that may be worth looking into when your in a crisis? The number 1 source, PRAYER we've continued to do that nightly, almost seems as though GOD does not hear us. Thanks for any encouragement!

Emil, I just want to say that these pages are a wonderful idea although I am sure you know know that there are scammers who come on and try to collect money from people. Unfortunately, scammers try to be as active as they can be - posting multiple comments and private messages (sometimes hundreds of them) - because they know that we will remove them quickly. Please, do NOT post your email address on public web pages as this one... or on any other public web site. You can edit your comment to delete your email address. Instead, tell other people to use the private messaging option here on Aidpage to contact you.

Elaine, Thank you for the good words about Aidpage! We are a small team without any outside funding and every single word of support is precious to us. The spell check feature is technically not trivial to be implemented for an online service and we will not have it in the near future. However, I am not even sure that this feature would be good for Aidpage. We believe that Aidpage should be as "democratic" as possible - meaning that people shouldn't feel intimidated in any way. Nothing should discourage them from expressing themselves freely... without fear of being judged as inadequate in any way - educationally, culturally, or in any other way. The presence of a spell check feature may suggest that this is something people should be concerned about. This said, I guess one day we would be tempted to implement the feature anyway... :) We hope to have a major new upgrade of Aidpage online within the next few weeks (we worked on it for over a year). More specifically, you will be able to create networks (groups) thematically centered on specific conditions (specific illness or "single moms" for example). This will make it possible to get together around common issues... and work to find specific answers, resources, and solutions... including trying to attract good willing people and organizations that are in a position to offer help. Also, it will be easy to create private groups so that people can discuss more freely their problems - similarly to normal real life support groups. Another thing that we hope to start seeing on the new version of Aidpage is the bringing in of relatives and existing friends (mostly as private groups)... even if this may mean just one or two people. We believe that long-term social stability can be achieved only by re-connecting with the people that know us and care (nonprofessionally) about us. Also, it will be easy to create your own email list of contacts that will start receiving by email your posts on Aidpage. The best part of it – you write once – everybody on your list gets updated. If they want to reply or comment – a link in the email will bring them to the online post here on Aidpage. A one-click "unsubscribe" link will be provided for those who want to opt out. It will be like publishing your own email newsletter – only without the hassle of managing a newsletter. This will be the perfect way to reach out and get the support of other people. Hello Emil, I thank you for taking a look at my page. I just put it up today. I think that this idea is a great one. Sometimes people need a great deal of help, and other times they just need a bit of advise on who to contact or a bit of encouragement.
